Happy New Year! I have a friend Michael Martin that shared your site with me. He created the Green Award that you won a few years ago. My other friend Dan Wilson played a song at that very event. Both friends thought I would enjoy your blog since I live very mindful of not bringing in any plastic or petroleum products into my home. I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivities and therefor live a very waste free lifestyle . It has been a joy to pass on your site to others since many of your suggestions speak to individuals like myself. Thank you for being a great resource to share your suggestions and links to purchase. On a side note, 'note' being the perfect word here, but I love the sound of my pantry since it is full of glassware instead of plastic storage containers that deaden tones. The musical tones that fill my home as ones house naturally breaths carries a beautiful vibration. Thank you for being a positive presents in your own families life as well as others. Blessings, Susan Anderson-Kimm

Hi Bea! Enjoy the sunshine. For Mexico did you choose a condo and if so was it zero waste friendly?

    1. oh! oh dear. What a typo. I should say "zero waste life" not "Zero life". Because living a sustainable life with my 2 kids had taught me what is really important. My life is much enriched because of realizing that the good stuff really doesn't come from stores. Thanks!

So happy to see you back blogging, Bea! We missed you - but knew the reward for our temporary loss would be a fabulous book. How long must we wait for that to be published and available to us?
Happy New Year to you and your adorable men.

Happy new year to you, too, Zero Waste Home! Thanks to your advice, my new year's resolution to simplify household needs and reduce waste has been going strong for almost three years now. Many wishes for your continued success. I'm looking forward to the book and bulk app.

P.S. Have you seen the new "Brush with Bamboo" bamboo toothbrushes at New Leaf? The packaging is advertised as completely compostable/biodegradable. I recall your quest to find a compostable toothbrush that you could purchase locally, and I'm really curious to hear what you think of them.

  13. Thank you very much, for the change you made in my life in January 4th it going to be a year, since I started reading your blog and living, well at least trying to live a zero waste life, I'm in my first steps, now I don't own any plastic in my kitchen, I make my own cold process soaps and shampoo. I hope in a few years be a truly zero waste family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hey, Bea ~ Please show us the great buys you score thrifting. The $2 black dress w/big pockets is intriguing. What does your minimalist wardrobe look like now? How little can one get by on and not feel deprived?
